International showcase of latest technologies at Manufacturing Myanmar 2015
A strong projection for Myanmar’s economic growth this year coupled with the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community are set to increase opportunities for the local manufacturing industry.
These factors, as well as the Free Trade Agreements Myanmar has signed individually and as part of ASEAN, with countries and regions such as Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and the United States, will bring upon more trade activities, as well as foreign investment into the country.
To compete, it is crucial for companies in the sector to invest and update their technologies. Manufacturing Myanmar 2015 will be highlighting the latest technologies from around the world that will help manufacturers enhance their productivity and efficiency.
More than 60 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions will be participating in the event’s second edition, to be held at Myanmar Event Park from 15 to 17 October 2015.
Exhibitors will be showcasing their bestselling technologies for the international market, as well as manufacturing equipment and solutions that are new to Myanmar.
Boosting opportunities for manufacturing sector
As Myanmar continues on its economic journey to attract foreign investors, the need to quickly increase productivity and improve efficiency in the manufacturing sector becomes more important.
U Aye Tun, VP of the Myanmar Industries Association, was delighted at the wide range of manufacturing solutions offered and representation of international brand names at Manufacturing Myanmar 2015.
Aye Tun said: “The business opportunities for local manufacturers will continue to increase and it is important for them to capitalise on these by shoring up their capabilities. Investing and updating the technologies will certainly help Myanmar’s budding manufacturing sector provide even more viable and effective services to the international companies that are investing in the country.

Myanmar Engineering Society’s president, U Win Khaing, adds: “We are excited with the level of technology and knowledge that Manufacturing Myanmar will be presenting. This is an excellent opportunity for local industry professionals to network with international experts and industry professionals and address gaps in knowledge and skills. Through the event, manufacturers will also be able to avail the latest technologies on the market and enhance their skills to meet the requirements of international companies.”
Also present at the press conference was Max Myint, Marketing director of Summit Goal, a leading importer and distributor of construction tools in the Myanmar market and first-time exhibitor at Manufacturing Myanmar 2015. The company has been at the forefront of technology and will be presenting bestselling welding and metal cutting technologies from the region at the event.
Myint says: “Over the past few years, we have seen more and more foreign companies coming into Myanmar to set up operations and the need for local companies to improve their hardware, so that they can provide a broader variety and better services for these international companies. We have been introducing the latest tools and technologies to the Myanmar market over the years.

Strong international presence at Manufacturing Myanmar 2015
There will be four international group pavilions from Germany, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan, led by various associations such as the Incheon Business Agency for Korea, Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association for Singapore and Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association for Taiwan.
In addition to the four international group pavilions, individual exhibitors from Asia and Europe such as India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, United Kingdom and many others will also be participating.
They include Deep Tools, Enomoto, Hitachi, Pye Tools, See Hau Global, Saint Gobain, Summit Goal, Tochu, Yawata and more who are making their first foray into the Myanmar market. Returning exhibitors include Assurich Industries, Benign Enterprise, Chii Long Iron Works, Hup Hong Machinery, MG SRL, Olympus, Optical Gaging, Sky Mahar, TRUMPF, Volkel and YG-1 Tools Asia.
